Careers at ASDWA

Join a Goldfields crew that backs its people.

Work With Us

ASD is a boutique drill and blast contractor based in Kalgoorlie, and we intend to stay that way. Being a manageable size means our people are names rather than numbers, our management is hands-on and on the ground, and a good idea from a driller can change how we do things the following shift.

We run a modern Atlas Copco and Epiroc fleet, we maintain it ourselves, and we back every crew with 24/7 mechanical field support. If you want to work on well-maintained gear, alongside people who take safety seriously and still enjoy the job, we would like to hear from you.

Why ASDWA?

Roles We Hire For

Recruitment at ASD moves with our project schedule, so the mix changes through the year. The roles we hire for most often include:

Blast hole drillers and drill offsiders

Grade control drillers and samplers

Drill and blast supervisors

Field service and maintenance fitters

Trades assistants and support crew

Trainees & apprentices through our Next Generation program

The Next Generation

We hire locally where we can, and we support regional programs that give younger people in the Goldfields a start in the industry.

If you are early in your career and willing to learn, ASD is a good place to build a trade and a ticket list, because you will work directly alongside people who have been doing this for decades.

Safety and Wellbeing

Safety is the first item on our core values list for a reason. Every ASD worker completes a full company induction, works to documented risk assessment tools such as Take-5 and Job Hazard Analysis, and is briefed daily through Pre-Shift Instruction meetings and weekly Safety Toolbox sessions.

We also take the parts of the job that are harder to see just as seriously. ASD is committed to a psychologically safe workplace, and our people have confidential access to an Employee Assistance Program for support when they need it.

What We Look For

A safety-first attitude and the confidence to speak up

Reliability, because remote sites depend on people turning up ready to work

A willingness to be multi-skilled and lend a hand

Relevant tickets and licences or the drive to work towards them

The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and ongoing drug and alcohol testing
