Overview
ASD’s Atlas Copco blast hole fleet is built for production drilling and blasting on open pit mining and quarrying projects, with hole sizes from 76mm through to 165mm depending on the rig. Every machine is maintained by our in-house team to mine specification and is available for both wet hire with our experienced operators and dry hire.
Atlas Copco D9c Crawler Surface Rig
Three D9c track crawlers make up the smaller end of our blast hole fleet. Compact and quick to tram between patterns, the D9c is our go-to rig for tighter production patterns, narrow benches and smaller open pit programs where a larger machine would be more rig than the job needs.

Atlas Copco F9c Crawler Surface Rig
The F9c crawler delivers powerful top hammer capability at 127mm, paired with a fuel-efficient diesel engine. It is available in single or folding boom configurations, making it a versatile choice for quarrying and construction-scale blast hole work as well as open pit production.

Atlas Copco ROC L7-40 Drill Rig
With six in the fleet, the ROC L7-40 is the workhorse of our blast hole operation. It is our high-productivity option for large-scale operations and quarries that need consistent output in demanding ground. It is also an economical alternative to larger production rigs without giving up capability.

Atlas Copco ROC L8 MK1 Crawler
The L8 MK1 is our down-the-hole option in the Atlas Copco range, built for deeper holes and larger diameters on big production benches. Running a two-stage high-pressure compressor, it holds penetration rates in hard ground where a top hammer rig starts to work harder for every metre.
