Support Equipment and Fleet
Mine spec support equipment that keeps the drill fleet turning.
Overview
A drill and blast operation is only as good as the gear supporting it. ASD owns and maintains a complete mine spec support fleet, so we arrive on site self-sufficient rather than relying on borrowed equipment and other people’s schedules.
Every vehicle and machine is fitted out to mine specification and maintained by the same in-house team that looks after our rigs. Support equipment is available as part of a full drill and blast scope or on its own.
Stemming Loaders
Loaders set up specifically for stemming patterns quickly and accurately, keeping the shot on schedule and the crew clear of manual handling wherever possible.
Purpose | Stemming of loaded blast patterns |
Typical use | Production drill and blast programs on open pit benches |
Fit-out | Mine spec, including rotating beacon, UHF radio, fire extinguisher and first aid kit |
Maintenance | Serviced in-house by ASD fitters |
Availability | As part of a drill and blast scope or standalone hire |
Bomb Utes
Compliant explosives transport vehicles for moving initiating product around site safely, set up and operated to client and regulatory requirements.
Purpose | Transport of explosives and initiating product on site |
Typical use | Charging and tie-in of blast patterns |
Fit-out | Mine spec, purpose-built for compliant explosives transport |
Compliance | Operated in line with client site requirements and applicable regulations |
Maintenance | Serviced in-house by ASD fitters |
Drill Support Vehicles
Light vehicles fitted out to move crews, consumables and drill steel around the pit, keeping rigs supplied without pulling a driller off the machine.
Purpose | Crew transport, consumables and drill steel delivery |
Typical use | Daily support of rigs across active patterns |
Fit-out | Mine spec light vehicle, including rotating beacon, UHF radio, fire extinguisher, first aid kit and recovery gear |
Maintenance | Serviced in-house by ASD fitters |
Availability | Deployed with every ASD drill crew |
Service Trucks
Field service trucks carrying fuel, oils, filters and tooling out to the rig, so routine servicing happens in the pit instead of costing a tram back to the workshop.
Purpose | In-field servicing, refuelling and lubrication of the drill fleet |
Typical use | Scheduled servicing and breakdown response on site |
Fit-out | Mine spec, carrying fuel, oils, filters, tooling and spares |
Support | Backed by 24/7 mechanical field service support |
Maintenance | Serviced in-house by ASD fitters |
Mobile Workshops
Fully equipped mobile workshops that let our fitters carry out repairs and component changes on site, which is the single biggest reason our rig availability stays where it does.
Purpose | On-site repairs, component changes and rebuild work |
Typical use | Breakdown response and planned maintenance away from the workshop |
Fit-out | Mine spec, fully equipped with tooling, welding and lifting capability |
Support | Backed by 24/7 mechanical field service support |
Maintenance | Serviced in-house by ASD fitters |
